Alternative Healing Arts Therapy

Alternative Healing Arts Therapy began as a yoga teacher training program to assist students in learning about teaching styles of yoga.  As the request of students, Eleanor developed a teacher training program in April of 2010 and accepted students in June of 2010. In the 200 hour program, students will learn the basics of teaching yoga. This programs tailor’s yoga teacher training to the teaching potential of the student.

From 2001 through 2006 Eleanor Harris,  co-taught and assisted in a 200 hour yoga teacher trainings with Peggy Kelly, Director of Austin Yoga School in Dallas, Arlington and Austin.  Eleanor has taught yoga since 1989.  She was certified as an Iyengar Yoga Instructor in 2000 and continues to study with teachers of many styles of yoga.

Students who have studied regularly with Eleanor for 4-6 years have the option of completing the program in 4 months with 200-250 contact hours and 20-30 non-contact hours.  Students, new to Eleanor and with prior yoga experience, can take 6-18 months to complete their yoga teacher training program or take continuing education modules.
